Yoga Nidra – Guided Meditation for Sleep

Yoga Nidra, also known as the Yoga of sleep, is a deeply rested practice that involves a slow and methodical body scan. Yoga Nidra is meant to take you to your alpha brain wave state, to promote deep relaxation for the mind and body. Twenty minutes of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent of two-and-a-half hours of sleep, providing much-needed rest for anyone coping with chronic stress or insomnia. Yoga Nidra helps to settle our bodies, helping to release muscle tension and feelings of unease. The efficacy of Yoga Nidra has also been shown for its positive effects on those healing from PTSD and trauma. 

This meditation is practiced lying down and can also be practiced in bed as a sleep aid and can be used as part of your daily sleep routine.

Lisa has over 750 hours of Yoga Teacher Training education and has studied in Canada, the US, Australia, Bali, and India. She's also a certified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. Lisa has been teaching group fitness and Yoga since 2001.
